BRM AERO wins Czech Republic’s most prestigious regional innovation award for pioneering electric aviation
At BRM AERO in Kunovice, Czech Republic, we design and manufacture modern Czech aircraft under the Bristell brand for training and travel. We’re honored to announce that our Bristell B23 Energic has been recognized as the winner of the Innovation Company of Zlín Region 2025 competition, presented on November 24, 2025, at Holešov Castle.
Our goal is to make pilot training quieter, cleaner, and more accessible – without compromising safety or performance.
90 Years of Aviation Heritage
The Zlín Region in eastern Czech Republic has been the heart of European aviation manufacturing since Tomáš Baťa established an aircraft factory here in 1934. Over 15,000 aircraft have been built in this region and exported to 60+ countries worldwide. Out of 28 competing companies, the jury selected Bristell B23 Energic for transforming pilot training with zero-emission flight, 90%+ operational cost savings, and significantly lower noise.
Our electric revolution isn’t a departure from this heritage – it’s the natural continuation of 90 years of pioneering.
From Vision to Market Reality
The B23 Energic was developed and integrated in Kunovice in partnership with Swiss company H55, building on the legacy of the Solar Impulse project. What began in 2019 has steadily evolved into a mature and proven platform. Over several years of testing and demonstration flights—conducted both in Europe and later across the United States—the aircraft consistently showed excellent reliability, generating strong market interest for the first production years (2026–2027).
The Energic offers 60 minutes of flight time, fast charging, and operational costs more than 90% lower than conventional trainers. It’s pioneering the FAR-23/CS-23 category in electric aviation.
Scaling Up: 100 New Jobs in 5 Years
We’re breaking ground on a specialized 2M EUR production hangar in December 2025. This isn’t just about the B23 Energic – the new facility enables multiple parallel development programs for new aircraft models that have been in preparation, waiting for proper production capability.
Electric aircraft manufacturing demands specialized infrastructure that can’t be retrofitted: anti-static flooring, high-voltage systems (800V), and battery-safe assembly environments. But once built, this facility opens doors to the next generation of Bristell aircraft.
Our vision: grow from 140 to 240+ employees over the next five years as we scale B23 Energic production and launch new models. We’re establishing a production ecosystem ready for aviation’s next chapter.We’re continuously hiring to meet growing demand and prepare for expansion.
